Camp Wells

A fun-filled residential camp for children aged 7-13

Monday 19th - Friday 23rd August 2024

Summer Camp, done the Wells way!

Our week-long residential summer camp is filled with daily activity classes, clan group games and lots and lots of fun. We will even have a day offsite at Mill on the Brue, all included in the cost. The camp is a great way to experience the amazing grounds of Wells Cathedral School, but also an excellent way to establish and cement friendships, develop independence and to try something new. As a parent you will be in the safe knowledge that your children are looked after by the exceptional Wells Cathedral School staff in a safe and secure environment. The course is open to all campers aged 7 – 13 near and far.

'Clash of the Clans'

All campers and all staff members will also be randomly allocated to one of four dragon clans: Mandr, Aldrax, Gonin or Zarmi. These clans play an important role throughout the week as there will be points up for grabs and the clan with the most points at the end of the week will be crowned the ultimate clan.

Points can be awarded for anything such as campers being helpful, telling a funny joke, challenging themselves and stepping outside their comfort zone but ultimately the most points can be won at clan games. Clan games happen in the afternoon and evening when the clans come together to compete in dodgeball, water fights, powered paint wars, capture the flag, jailbreak, wacky races and much more. The games encourage teamwork, strategy and supporting one another and truly do become the highlight of the day.

Mill on the Brue

On Thursday, the campers will set off on a one-day adventure at Mill on the Brue where they will take part in a full day of activities. Exact activities are still to be confirmed, but they will be things like canoeing, braving the assault course, whizzing down a water slide and climbing the high ropes.

Staff and Location

The staff working the camp have a huge array of experience and will make the children’s time at camp truly special and memorable while giving parents a much needed break in the hectic long summer holidays! We operate a no phone or device policy at camp so your child will be truly engaged with the activities on offer without distractions.

Our School, located in southwest England, is perfect for a summer camp. Nestled in the heart of Wells, it is a safe place with beautiful medieval buildings and amazing facilities.
