Cedars Hall
If you are looking for a modern, purpose-built space for a concert or event, look no further than Cedars Hall which is a modern world-class arts and recital venue, opened in Autumn 2016.
The auditorium can set up to 350 people, depending on the style of event – and can be set up in many different ways. All seating can be removed, a tiered section of seating can be added – and up to seven more rows of flat seating in front of the tiered section. We can also set up tables and chairs instead – for conferences, dinners and cabaret events – and parties. The stage, if required, rises up from the floor in lots of different sections and is therefore very versatile – a talk, for example, would only need a small section of stage, whilst a band would need more.
The foyer is a light and airy space which is large enough to be used as an event venue in its own right – and you can add the fully stocked bar to your event plans. We also have lots of different catering options for you to choose from – from canapes, hot and cold buffets, cheese boards or a three-course meal.
Box office services, technician(s) and a hall manager can also be supplied as required.
Simply call or message us and we can discuss your options.
Quilter Hall
Part of our music school buildings, opposite Wells Cathedral and close to the centre of Wells, Quilter Hall is in a small medieval building that was once used as a library. This intimate and atmospheric space can be laid out for an audience of up to 90 people for lectures, small music recitals and talks – and is an ideal venue for receptions or small parties. We can provide microphones and audiovisual equipment if required, and there is a Steinway grand piano available which can be used for small concerts or as background music. Quilter Hall can also be used for breakout sessions from a main conference or event being held at one of our other venues.
Sports Pavilion
The upper level of the sports pavilion includes a meeting reception room and bar with spectator seating outside that has stunning views across Cedars Field and its cricket square. The reception room can be used to provide lunch or light refreshments as well as a space for social events and gatherings.
It can hold up to 20 people seated around a table and up to 40 standing for a reception. The room is equipped with a screen for audiovisual presentations and the doors can be opened wide to enable guests to use the balcony area and outside seating to relax and enjoy the view. The building is ideal for small meetings, receptions and as a breakout area for a conference.
Toilets and changing rooms are on the ground floor and this versatile building can also be used for sports functions and events.
Cedars House: Drawing Room and Morning Room
This elegant Georgian stone former private home contains two adjoining rooms which are ideal for small functions or meetings. The largest room of the two, Cedars Drawing Room, can host dinner parties of up to 32, cocktail parties or receptions of up to 60 and can be configured as a space for meetings with a large meeting table for up to 12 people. The room also contains a Steinway Grand piano which can be used for musical entertainment if required.
Decorated in a similar fashion, the adjoining Cedars Morning Room contains two sofas for extra comfort and can host a dinner of 24 people and a drinks reception for up to 40.
